Any help with either deactivating the Acrobat Pro 9 license on my old laptop or getting it to work on the new laptop would be much appreciated.
I also just spent half an hour with a customer support agent on the online chat system who was only able to tell me that there's a dedicated forum team for this issue, so I'm hoping this is the right place to ask for help. I have tried figuring out how to first deactivate the license on my old laptop in case it's only possible to use it on one machine at a time, but can't find any information or options for how to deactivate it (there is no "deactivate" option on the help menu, which is what most documentation recommends). I have already downloaded and installed the whole CS4 suite onto the new laptop and this license worked just fine to activate all my other Adobe CS4 products. If you have purchased an individual license you are entitled to install it on two machines and use one machine at a time using Acrobat. The good people in the forum may share what help they can, but they arent a team, or dedicated to a particular task. They purchased the upgrade through TigerDirect, who coordinated the purchase with Adobe. They have to stay at that version due to a line-of-business app they use. The fact is that Acrobat 9, like 10 and 11, are out of support: Adobe wont help, and anyway cant help you make it run on an incompatible system. Im working with a small law firm that had four copies of Acrobat 9 Pro and upgraded them in 2014 to Acrobat XI Pro. eg, using a cs6 suite serial number with a photoshop cs6 installation file. Assuming you're using a valid adobe serial number (6 groups of 4 numbers), you have a mismatch between your installation file and serial number. Make sure that the system meets the minimum requirements for your product.
